Picture yourself in two months—flossin’ your best shorts and t-shirts/tanks. I mean, it’s summer—those sweatshirts and jackets have disappeared into the dark abyss of your closet corners by now and will probably mysteriously resurface around October. Currently, spring is upon us and those jackets are doing just fine by me right now..but thinking about how seasonal prices always go up once we’re in-season, I’m thinking of doing my summer clothes shopping right now. T-shirts are my summer anthem—like Lil’ Rob’s one-hit-wonder “Summer Nights”—ain’t nothing like them summer nights.
Something ya’ll should know about summer clothes—prices don’t rise instantly because that would be a dead giveaway when stores talk about their ‘summer sales’. That’s no sale—I’d end up paying more for a summer t-shirt than I would a winter t-shirt. Hence, I’m always on the lookout for pre-summer sales to stock up on tees, tanks, shorts, etc.
One thing I’ve definitely noticed is—online stores offer much better deals on summer clothing than any retail store. If I’m looking to stock up, chances are I get free shipping and a bulk discount. In retail, that’s pretty rare. I mean, yes they have buy 2, get 1 free sales or some % off, but they still don’t compare—or just about even out to the money spent on gas, time spent perusing through unorganized products (as most sale items tend to be in stores), and hassle of finding the right size.
All in all, Summer isn’t too far away people. Look into getting your summer clothes sooner than later—because those summer sales won’t compare to pre-summer ones.
